Why Arena Hall?

Note from Evan Baehr, Founder & CEO of Arena Hall.

Arena Hall is where builders, investors, and policymakers work together to shape what comes next. Headquartered in Austin with two operating locations and national expansion underway, the organization sits at the intersection of capital, policy, and innovation, turning ideas into initiatives that scale.

Its community includes founders of high-growth companies, investors in frontier technologies, cultural figures shaping public dialogue, and policy leaders driving reform across education, health, and energy. Arena Hall connects these leaders through work that bridges sectors, where conversation becomes collaboration, and collaboration leads to measurable impact.

Beyond convening, Arena Hall runs venture and philanthropic initiatives, applied research, and civic and commercial projects that advance a belief in progress through enterprise and stewardship. At its core, the organization is building a new model for leadership infrastructure that fuses business creation, civic innovation, and cultural strategy under one roof to accelerate the ideas that will define the next decade.

The Opportunity

The VP of Sales & Revenue will shape the commercial rhythm of Arena Hall. Reporting to the CEO, this leader will oversee membership sales, private event sales, and commercial space partnerships, ensuring every engagement advances both revenue and reputation. In close partnership with the VP of Community, the VP will align promise with delivery so every experience reflects Arena Hall’s standards.

This is a player-coach role. The VP will personally secure flagship memberships and key partnerships while building a repeatable engine that the team can scale. The VP will set the plan and cadence, own the forecast, and price with intent. Revenue is treated as stewardship. Each sale strengthens the community, and each message carries weight. The work connects qualified demand to a place where ideas, capital, and culture intersect, turning relationships into durable growth.

The VP of Sales & Revenue will maintain a clean, transparent pipeline. Stages will be defined, CRM hygiene will be non-negotiable, and reported numbers will be trusted. Working shoulder to shoulder with Community, Operations, Culinary, Programming, Communications, and Finance, this leader will ensure that every handoff from promise to experience is seamless, consistent, and on brand. The VP will be visibly present with members, host during key moments including select evenings and weekends, and uphold Arena Hall’s standard without compromise.

What You’ll Build

  • A unified commercial engine. One plan, one pipeline, one cadence for membership, private events, partnerships, and brand—aligned to quarterly and annual targets.

  • Membership growth system. Ideal member profiles, referral flywheels, selection/onboarding that protect culture and increase lifetime value.

  • Private events book of business. Corporate, civic, and cultural anchors; premium packages; repeatable playbooks around city tentpoles (SXSW, F1) and our own signature gatherings.

  • Commercial space revenue. B2B leasing strategies, corporate client acquisition, and workspace utilization that complements and enhances the member experience.

  • Brand and demand. Clear narratives, channels, and initiatives that turn stories into qualified pipelines.

  • Pricing and packaging. Membership tiers, event offerings, and partner programs that balance access, scarcity, and margin.

  • Pipeline discipline. CRM hygiene, stage definitions, forecast accuracy, win/loss reviews, and weekly “speed of trust” dashboards.

  • Partnerships that compound. With companies, institutions, and creators whose presence elevates the room and accelerates revenue.

  • Team and ritual. Hire, coach, and hold accountable sales teams; establish operating rhythms that turn courage into consistency.

  • Fulfillment integration. With the VP of Community: sales-to-production playbooks, capacity calendars, service-level agreements, and post-event/member NPS loops to drive retention.

  • Metrics that matter. Membership growth and retention, event revenue and conversion, revenue per event—reviewed weekly, learned from monthly, reset quarterly.

What You’ll Bring

  • 10+ years leading sales in hospitality/private clubs/luxury events, with B2B or commercial real estate experience a plus

  • Confidence in closing six-figure memberships and event packages yourself while developing others to do the same.

  • History of hiring, coaching, and raising the bar across membership sales/event sales.

  • Budget ownership, forecast accuracy, and comfort being accountable to ambitious growth targets.

  • Executive presence with HNW leaders; you host with warmth, protect the culture, and sell without theatrics.

  • CRM mastery, including clean funnels, crisp stage gates, honest win/loss notes; you love a good dashboard and hate sandbagging.

  • Cross-functional operations selling what can be delivered and feeding back what should be built.

  • Existing network in Austin’s corporate/civic ecosystem—or a track record of building one quickly.

  • Comfortable flexing into evenings/weekends when the work happens.

You’ll Thrive in Arena Hall’s Culture if You:

  • Are naturally curious—engaged with today’s events and inspired by ideas that shape the future.

  • Have a deep love for community and hospitality, and believe in their power to transform lives.

  • Can move fluidly between strategic decision-making and hands-on execution to keep momentum.

  • Embrace ambiguity and see it as an opportunity to create clarity and structure.

  • Bring startup experience and the resilience to build from the ground up.

  • Have “zero to one” experience—launching new initiatives, not just scaling existing ones.

  • Enjoy discovering and implementing tools that make work smarter, faster, and more effective.
